Lotro Changes with Isengard Expansion and much more |
During the last two days Aaron Campbell, Producer for LOTRO and Adam Mersky, Public Relations Director for Turbine had several interviews about the upcoming Lord of the Rings Online expansion, Rise of Isengard and other updates. To make a long story short here are the main facts:
Rise of Isengard
- With the Rise of Isengard expansion the level cap will increase to 70
- Three new regions will be added - Dunland, the Gap of Rohan (NOT Rohan) and Isengard which includes Saruman's tower Orthanc.
- A new monster play area (maybe it will be area around Isengard)

New Reputation Horses |
As Turbine has confirmed today in the official Release Notes we can expect new reputation mounts with the November Update, but new features like block, evade or parry will not be included yet. Reputation mounts will now have 250 health and receive reduced critical damage.
We have reviewed much of the feedback players have offered regarding reputation mounts and what they represent in terms of accomplishment and time invested. You’ve made it very clear that these mounts should be special and reflect the effort required to earn them. We agree! Reputation mounts have received an upgrade in their stats. These mounts will now have 250 health and receive reduced critical damage.
We have also added many new reputation mounts to the game. You may want to revisit some old stomping grounds to see if there is something new for you at an old beloved faction! You might find them on vendors or from barterers.
In the future, some mounts purchased through the LOTRO Store may share appearances with the reputation mounts, but will be weaker than their earned counterparts.

Lotro Release Notes for November Update |
Today Turbine released official notes for the November 2010 Update. There are several big changes like:
- The Lone-lands quest pack is now free to all players
- Swift Travel Routes that previously required the player to be a subscriber are now usable by past subscribers as well
- Free repeatable quest - Tasks
- New reputation mounts have been added to the game
- Ered Luin have been completely revamped
- Players can now rename their characters by purchasing the rename option in the LOTRO Store.
- New Ingredient Packs
- Yule festival has been improved and the Winter-home has been added to this festival.

New Lotro Digital Expansion RISE OF ISENGARD Launching Fall 2011 |
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today new digital expansion to The Lord of the Rings Online, Rise of Isengard developed by Turbine.
Rise of Isengard will expand the online world of Middle-earth where players will join forces to press further eastward into the legendary region of Isengard. Rise of Isengard will be available for purchase in the LOTRO Store in the Fall of 2011 with an increased level cap, the new region of Isengard including the legendary tower of Orthanc, enhancements to monster play and much more!

New Lotro Class Consumables |
November Update will introduce a new suite of class consumables. Many of the new consumables can be crafted using traditional ingredients as well as the new Ingredient Packs available in the LOTRO Store. Additionally, all of the items and the recipes are available in the LOTRO Store.

Reconnaissance Reports |
Reduces Direct Soldier cool down. Reconnaissance Reports contain a thorough analysis of the field of battle, enabling commanders to more efficiently direct the flow of battle. The Reconnaissance Reports reduce the cooldown of the Direct Soldier skill by 25% for 15 minutes. This consumable is exclusive to the LOTRO Store. |

Lotro Gear Website |
I don't know how I've missed this site - Lotro Gear, but I'm very glad that Greg has contacted us and drew our attention to his work. As Greg noted
It's basically gear from the lorebook but in a more spreadsheety way that's (hopefully) easier to compare/sort/. All the data (armour, jewelry, weapons) shown here comes direct from the lorebook.
The data are organized in tables that can be filtered. Each item can be filtered by class and sorted by your own preference. You can also use a multi-columns sort which allows you to look for gear much easier.
I'm glad that Greg made this effort to do something as nifty and useful as this site for LOTRO players, and I'm sure you will find it very useful.

What we can expect from Lotro next year |
Yesterday Eurogamer has released interview with Aaron Campbell, producer for the Lord of the rings Online. After a successful start with the free-to-play relaunch, Turbine came to some conclusions that are very important when creating a new expansion.
"What we're learning as we build free-to-play is that we can release parts of the world at a time. So our next major update - and we'll be talking more about this soon - starts to extend the world out for free-to-play players. They'll be able to get up to level 65 and see all the world that's available to them."
So, what we can expect in the future?
- Book 3 is scheduled for early part of next year
- New Digotal Expansion - Isengard
- We can expect to fight Saruman but it's questionable whether we can defeat him or not
- Monster Play revamp (class balance)
We certainly have some important revisions coming for it early to mid next year
