A suspicious account requests via in game email have been sent to players during the last few days.  These emails are very convincing and link to a site that has cloned the appearance of the lotro.com website. All players should be aware that this is not a valid site and is in no way associated with Turbine.

Example email:
“Becasuse you suspected of lllegal trade for gold, system will freeze your ID after one hour.If you have any questions, please login (URL) to make a complaint .We will be processing as soon as possible.Thank you for your understanding!”

Turbine has finally announced release date for the next upcoming content Book 8: Scourge of Khazad-dum. It will be launched  on 23rd June in North America. As it is usual, EU players will wait a little longer for new adventures.

We haven't expected Official notes for The Lord of The Rings Online: Mines of Moria, Volume 2 Book 8: Scourge of Khazad-Dum so soon, but this time Turbine has really surprised us all.

While we are waiting for Book 8 release date, Turbane has showed of several new screenshots to satisfy our curiosity. Take a sneak peek at new creatures that soon we'll be able to grind.

Europe's biggest Fantasy Convention will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of October 2009. Tolkien and fantasy fans from all over the world will gather in the Maritim Hotel Bonn, Germany for the 8th Ring*Con.

Due to the great success of the first part of the movie trilogy, "Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring" in the year 2001, Marcel Bülles from the "Deutsche Tolkiengesellschaft" and Stefan Servos, owner of the very successful website herr-der-ringe.film.de , had the idea to hold a Convention about this topic to bring “Lord of the Rings” more closer to the fans. The idea included that the participants should see actors on stage, get autographs, hear lectures by Tolkien experts and experience a fantastic weekend with like-minded people.

You can meet your favourite stars from „Lord of the Rings“, „Harry Potter“, „Twilight“ and other Fantasy movies and TV series, and you can ask them questions in the so-called panels (Question and Answer sessions). For Ring*Con 2009 we will present a variety of top-class celebrity guests for all of our interested visitors which will make your Ring*Con weekend one of the memorable highlights of your year:

We never intended players on either side to be able to enter Grams or GV, and we will be taking steps to try and ensure this is not possible in the future. In the meantime any freep caught in Grams, and likewise any creep caught in GV, will be subject to disciplinary action from our GM's which could include being banned. Few weeks ago it was just a rumor but few days ago Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has officially announced Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest for Wii and DS in Autumn 2009. The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest is being developed for Wii by Headstrong Games and for Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2 and PSP (PlayStation Portable) system by TT Fusion.

The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest is the first of many different types of games we will be developing with the film and literary rights. The first title with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, is set in a colorful, action-filled rendition of Middle-earth that will appeal to new and dedicated fans.

If you share our passion for collecting deeds in Lotro, this new Lothlorien deeds' directions will be very valuable for you.  Additional contributions of these deeds are that each deed gives 700 reputation for Galadhrim.

Also, we have updated the list of Point of interest in Moria, so if you are interested in Moria adventures this list will be your unavoidable partner. We would like to thank Nikito - leader of R.A.I.D. for all deeds and point of interest information.

If you haven't already know, Jubut Rud Cloack has been shrouded in veil of mystery.  Jubut-rud means  "Mighty Cloak" in pseudo-Khuzdul and it has special ability.  As you can see on the screenshots this cloak can be dyed.

This is just a quirk of the appearance system. Some cloaks are set up one way, some cloaks another, and the dye preview window doesn't handle one of those cases correctly.

Since the release of the latest Developer Diary and introduction of the new type of quests - Bounty Quests, questions have arisen from the players. The only information was:

Bounty quests are a new style of quest that will make their way into each region as we continue forward on our revision to the lands preceding Moria. Each of these quests is repeatable up to three times and has distinct rewards that tie into our new crafting changes. Each will allow players to earn new crafting items and recipes to assist them with their chosen vocations.

During the last few days we have been collecting forums' information about new Lotro Bounty Quests. After all questions and explanations Orion has decided to give additional information.

For this Summer Fest Turbine will released new Summerfest housing items. So far there are two new screenshots made by Lomeloth at Bullroar server: Summerfest bed and Summerfest Painting. We would also like to remind you on the last-year housing items.  Last year for the first time there were several new wall surface with incredible textures depending on wall color.

Few weeks ago Ealdarwyn has contacted us and provided more than 300 screenshots of Floor and Wall surface in different colors. We have updated so far all floor surfaces and more than a half of Wall Surfaces.
